Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Fountain Valley, CA (100% Onsite)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (flexibility available)

Employment Type: Temp to Hire

Salary: $35-$40/hr. DOE

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations across a multi-state workforce. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process bi-weekly payroll
• Administer ADP Workforce Now (Payroll, HRIS, Time & Attendance, Reporting)
• Audit payroll and timekeeping data for accuracy
• Process garnishments, tax levies, and employment verifications
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Maintain payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Generate payroll reports and support HR projects

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of payroll experience
• 5+ years of HR experience
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field
• Experience with multi-state payroll
• Strong Excel and reporting skills

Preferred:

• ADP Workforce Now experience
• CPP certification
• PHR or SHRM certification
